Knib... or Kiev as I've heard it pronounced in some parts...

Arrived!
The supermarket opposite our hostel. Ahhh only in Moscow!!!
Ukrainian fashion # 3. Love a bit of pink!
The Ukrainian circus. Note the monkey on a motorbike and more importantly, the dog on a parachute!
A well-tended Ukrainian road
Stubby-holders, Ukrainian style.
Saint Sophia's, the most beautiful cathedral in Kiev:
...from another angle...
A random shoe sculpture, no idea what it was about, but I liked it.
The Ukrainian poet and local hero: Shevshenko. I napped under his watchful gaze in this park and felt safe in his arty kindness.
Mary's everywhere in Ukraine!
K means sewage!
Jane Mansfield and the Turk. Orthodox fashion...
The most impressive thing I think I saw in the entire country. Mosaic made up for 2700 hand-painted pesanke (Easter eggs) that made up the face of the Madonna... I was blown away!
Happy Barks and his shaslic.
A band that was described as Russian Rock. You haven't lived until you've seen 'Sweet Child of mine' sung with a Ukrainian/Russian Accent.

Dancing to said Russian Rock: Talking shit after one or two too many vodka and apple juices...
Exhausted and no doubt hung over, I couldn't go on, and neither could Barks so we collapsed and slept (pretty well I must say) in the middle of a bustling round-about.
Beautiful Kiev
Saturday with The Age, ops, I mean the Kiev Post... just as interesting, only lacking the Good Weekend.
Barks and his favourite car: the Lada.
Barks in a proud Ukrainian moment having purchased a mystery box (that turned out to have a cake inside) that he wanted purely for the Boss bag. All the local men carried one and although his beard and salt & pepper hair got him a long way to being Ukrainian, it wasn't until he sported the proper accessory that he was fully welcomed into the Ukrainian fold.
RRRRRRRRRussia here we come!
